Blue Lovisa Jewellery Earrings

I recently stumbled upon a jewelry store at the Glendale Galleria (in Glendale, CA) called "Lovisa Jewellery". Jewelry heaven! So many colors and styles of affordable jewelry to choose from. I only walked in the store to browse, but then I saw some earrings that would match with a blue dress I planned to wear to an event. I definitely made the right choice in earrings! No buyer's remorse here. Open shoulder dress is from www.Boohoo.com.

Tarte High Performance Naturals Palette - Eye Shadow Look

Los Angeles finally experienced a "chilly" winter night last night. I decided to wear my warm, "chilly night" appropriate open shoulder sweater from Forever 21. I used the "Tarte High Performance Naturals" eye shadow palette to create my look. This palette has all the perfect colors you need to create a really neutral warm eye shadow look.

Yellow, Gold and Black Accessories for the Weekend

The sun finally came out this weekend! I decided to bronze it up a bit and wear some yellow, gold and black. I bought my yellow heels years ago but never wore them. It was one of those "Hey, those are cute! I'll buy them but probably never wear them" moments. Well, I finally wore them this weekend and they were super comfortable! Check out a few more pictures of my makeup and accessories worn for the day.

Dress: BCBGeneration

Necklace: Swarovski. This necklace is a rose gold heart and came with a small silver heart that you can insert inside the necklace. I gave the small silver one to my niece as her birthday present and also since it was her baptism and I was chosen to be one of her godmothers. This necklace is really special to me and I feel honored to have given the silver necklace to my niece as a way to make us stay connected.

Purse: Gucci

Watch: Michael Kors

Shoes: Bakers

Work Outfits: Black and Gray

1) Left:
  • Black and white jacket: H&M. This is my favorite piece from the entire outfit. The jacket is really comfortable and stretchy.
2) Middle:
  • Top: Cache. I used to work there a few years back so my closet is full of Cache items from back in the day. I'm sad to hear the stores have closed.
3) Right:
  • Top: Zara. The top is a three quarter sleeve with ruffles at the shoulders.

Works Outfits: Beige and Green

I like to dress business casual at work during the week. Half the time I find shirts or cardigans in my closet that I never even remembered I had. I've decided to capture some pictures of a few of my outfits. I remember where I bought most of the items I'm wearing.

1) Left:

  • White blazer with light brown stripes: Forever 21. I had bought this years ago and always told myself, "I'll wear it one day!" Well, I decided to finally wear it this week.
  • Brown boots: Fashion Q. Not the most comfortable boots, but they're perfect for the office since I don't have to walk too much. Although I should!
  • Ring: Forever 21

2) Middle

  • Beige Blazer: Fashion Q. Can you tell I love Fashion Q? I like to buy basic items from there since they're so affordable and lightweight.
  • Shirt: Fashion Q
  • Necklace: Charlotte Russe
  • Ring: Forever 21
  • Shoes: Bakers. I bought these a really long time ago. Unfortunately, Bakers is closed now so I can't buy shoes from there anymore. My wardrobe is full of Bakers shoes. Come back Bakers!

3) Right:

  • Green cardigan: T.J. Maxx. Affordable and very comfortable!
  • Shoes: I don't remember exactly where I bought them but I know for a fact they were either from Love D or Reflection.

Beach Wedding: Blue Eyeshadow and Black Dress

I went to a beach wedding in Redondo Beach this weekend and it was absolutely beautiful. I had never been to a wedding on the beach before. The weather was perfect. The sky was clear blue and the sun was shining down on us. I wore a black dress and decided to use blue eyeshadow to match the theme of the wedding. I like to use colors in my makeup that are inspired by my surroundings. The blue was clearly inspired by the beach, the ocean, and the blue sky.

Eyeshadow: I used Mac eyeshadow all over my eyes. I have a 6 eyeshadow palette that I chose 3 colors from. The inner section is: Gingersoft. The blue is Cinder with a bit of Tease 'n Teal blended into it. The smokey color is created by using the color Contrast (not a part of the palette).

Eyeliner: NYX Black ( on top). Urban Decay "Ink," Electric Eel by Mac, and Beauty Marked by Mac (under eye).

Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly

Dress: Bebe

Charming Charlie Purses and Sunglasses

A few weeks ago, I went to San Diego and I stopped by a cute store called, "Charming Charlie." The entire store is set up by color, so if you're looking for something yellow for example, you just go to the yellow section and find all sorts of accessories as well as some shoes and clothes...in yellow! I was so overwhelmed when I walked in. I could spend all day there, but I'd probably also spend all my money and buy everything in the store. I did walk out with two of the same purses in different colors and two of the same sunglasses in different colors. Any time I like something, I like to buy an additional one of it in another color. It's always hard to just buy two of the same item in a different color because knowing me, I would buy four or five of the same thing if I could. Check out the cute purses and sunglasses that I bought!

Check out the website for Charming Charlie!

Click here for link to Quilted Queen Crossbody bag! Unfortunately, the website does not have the sunglasses online. I did find similar ones in white, if you're interested, click here!

Happy shopping!

House of Lashes Inspired Eye Makeup

I had come across a beautiful eye makeup look on the Instagram page of House of Lashes. I decided to try my best to recreate it! Take a look at my makeup station with all of the makeup items I used, as well as the finished look below.
I made sure to use Mac's new glitter holiday set in the inner crease of my eye to give that extra sparkly look. Some of the items pictured above are: Hue and Snob lipsticks by Mac, Oak lipliner by Mac, Pout lipgloss by Smashbox, Arbonne bronzer, L'Oreal Voluminous Fiber Lashes, NYX white and black eyeliners, and NYC face powder.

Birthday Makeup!

I celebrated my birthday this weekend and I got to have a little fun doing my own makeup for my night out! After playing around with different lipsticks and eye shadows, this is the final look I ended up creating.

These are some of the eye makeup products that I used:
The top left eye shadow palette is the Beaute Basics Matte Eye Shadow Palette, I used the hot pink for the middle crease of my eye and the black color to create the smokey effect. I used the bottom left Sinful Colors eye shadow in color "Platinum" for the inner crease of my eye. Then I used one of my favorite mascaras, Loreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes, Black Lacquer. This mascara is amazing! Just like the name says, it makes my lashes look very "Voluminous!"

These are some of the products I used on my lips and cheeks:
I used both "Hue" and "Snob" by Mac (I love blending two lipsticks), then I used my favorite pink lipgloss  "Pout." My friend recommended this to me years ago and I've been hooked ever since! Then I used Arbonne's "Taffeta" blush, and put a little bit of Arbonne's bronzer over it. (You can use my Arbonne ID# 13370815 at checkout on the Arbonne website if you would like the Arbonne products).

I also used some Mac under eye concealer (everybody needs a little bit of that to brighten up the eyes a bit!), I used my favorite NYX black eyeliner that I've been using for years, and I used NYC's "Smooth Skin Naturally Beige Face Powder." There you have it! This is the final look I completed for my birthday!

Smokey Eye Makeup

I love doing a smokey eye! To do this look on my eyes, I used Mac: Cosmic on the inner crease, NYX: Rust in the middle, Mac: Beauty Marked on the outer crease (the smokey effect) and Mac: Electric Eel on the bottom. I also used Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara in Glam Black. It's the yellow tube and it's my absolute favorite! Before I applied any of the eyeshadows, I made sure to use the Base Light Mac Primer.  I have been using it for years and it works really well.
