Wedding Glam: Goddess Inspired Gold and Black Makeup

I went to a wedding last night and wore my goddess styled gold necklace from Cebu. I wore a red dress and wanted to keep my eyeshadow looking smokey yet neutral. Anytime I want to pull of a look like that, I always keep the inner crease color neutral with a bit of shimmer, which is why I decided to use gold in the inner crease and of course black to make the smokey look. I took a few sets of pictures to capture my look. I used flash on my camera in one set of pictures and turned off the flash in another set.

Here are my pictures with natural sunlight:

Here are my pictures with flash:

*I didn't use any filters or apps to edit the pictures.

Products used:

Bronzer: Arbonne Bronzer

Lips:  Mac Prep + Primer, Prestige Lipliner in "Sand," NYX Matte Lipstick in "Couture." I LOVE NYX matte lipsticks! Although some of their matte colors may be really nude, they come off really strong on the lips - thus preventing me from having to use a bunch of other lipsticks to get the color I want!

Eyebrows: Sephora Retractable Brow Pencil in "Midnight Brown." I went to Sephora a few weeks ago to buy Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Pencil but Sephora was out of the color I needed. They showed me their brand's eyebrow pencil and I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! It's very easy to use and it stays on all night.

Eyelashes: Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes Mascara. This is the one with the purple tube and it has a separate mascara wand for upper lashes and also for lower lashes. I think mascara works best when you've used it for a while. I've had this for a few weeks and now I can really see the full dramatic effect when using it.

Eyes:
  • NYX Black eyeliner (I've been using this brand for YEARS), and I've seen the price go up every so often throughout the years. Where is that $.99 eyeliner I used to love so much?! Now we're at $2.50. Loyal fan - always and forever.
  • Mac eyeshadow "Cosmic" gold color used in inner crease and "Beauty Marked" used for outer crease to make the smokey black look as well as to line my bottom lids. I also combined "Mirage Cosmetics" black eyeshadow to make the smokey look. I feel like I have to pour on the Cosmic gold eyeshadow to make it pop. I have yet to find a really good old eyeshadow that shines nice and bright on my lids.
Face: NYC "Naturally Beige" pressed face powder. I've also been using it for years and it's under $5! I also used an ivory face highlighter from "Chella" to highlight parts of my face. I received this through my monthly Ipsy subscription and I really like it!

Neklace: Cebu

There you have it! My goddess gold and black inspired wedding look.

I found an instrumental version of Ariana Grande's "Best Mistake" and decided to do a short and sweet YouTube Cover. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a rapper to do Big Sean's part so I decided to just sing Ariana's part. Check it out!

Make up information:

Lipliner: Prestige in "Sand"
Lipstick: Mac "Nouvelle Vogue" layered with Mac "Myth"
Blush: Arbonne bronzer
Eyeliner: NYX
Mascara: Arbonne "It's a Long Story"

September Makeup: Gold and Maroon

I went to a wedding this weekend and tried out some September themed colors for my makeup. In my opinion, some September colors are gold and maroon and anything else that can be found in the warm color scheme. Some brands of makeup I used were: Mac Cosmetics eyeshadow and lipstick, Make Up Forever mascara, NYX eyeshadow and eyeliner, and Arbonne bronzer along with some Mac Cosmetics blush.

Fuchsia Lipstick for Mother's Day

There are times when I cannot find the perfect lipstick color. So what do I do? I combine a bunch of colors together and get the perfect color! I went for a nice fuchsia combination for Mother's Day.

I started with my Sephora lipliner in "Pleasant Plum." I put on my Urban Decay "Venom" lipstick which comes off as a dark maroon color. I then put on my bright pink "Girl About Town" lipstick from Mac. To top it off, I used the glossy NYX lipgloss in "Doll Pink."

If you want a dark maroon color, the "Pleasant Plum" lipliner and "Venom" lipstick look very good together! Or if you just want a bright fuchsia color, you can use the "Girl About Town" lipstick with the "Doll Pink" lipgloss.

Lipliner: Pleasant Plum by Sephora

Lipstick: Venom by Urban Decay and Girl About Town by Mac

Lipgloss: Doll Pink by NYX

Beach Wedding: Blue Eyeshadow and Black Dress

I went to a beach wedding in Redondo Beach this weekend and it was absolutely beautiful. I had never been to a wedding on the beach before. The weather was perfect. The sky was clear blue and the sun was shining down on us. I wore a black dress and decided to use blue eyeshadow to match the theme of the wedding. I like to use colors in my makeup that are inspired by my surroundings. The blue was clearly inspired by the beach, the ocean, and the blue sky.

Eyeshadow: I used Mac eyeshadow all over my eyes. I have a 6 eyeshadow palette that I chose 3 colors from. The inner section is: Gingersoft. The blue is Cinder with a bit of Tease 'n Teal blended into it. The smokey color is created by using the color Contrast (not a part of the palette).

Eyeliner: NYX Black ( on top). Urban Decay "Ink," Electric Eel by Mac, and Beauty Marked by Mac (under eye).

Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly

Dress: Bebe

House of Lashes Inspired Eye Makeup

I had come across a beautiful eye makeup look on the Instagram page of House of Lashes. I decided to try my best to recreate it! Take a look at my makeup station with all of the makeup items I used, as well as the finished look below.
I made sure to use Mac's new glitter holiday set in the inner crease of my eye to give that extra sparkly look. Some of the items pictured above are: Hue and Snob lipsticks by Mac, Oak lipliner by Mac, Pout lipgloss by Smashbox, Arbonne bronzer, L'Oreal Voluminous Fiber Lashes, NYX white and black eyeliners, and NYC face powder.

Birthday Makeup!

I celebrated my birthday this weekend and I got to have a little fun doing my own makeup for my night out! After playing around with different lipsticks and eye shadows, this is the final look I ended up creating.

These are some of the eye makeup products that I used:
The top left eye shadow palette is the Beaute Basics Matte Eye Shadow Palette, I used the hot pink for the middle crease of my eye and the black color to create the smokey effect. I used the bottom left Sinful Colors eye shadow in color "Platinum" for the inner crease of my eye. Then I used one of my favorite mascaras, Loreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes, Black Lacquer. This mascara is amazing! Just like the name says, it makes my lashes look very "Voluminous!"

These are some of the products I used on my lips and cheeks:
I used both "Hue" and "Snob" by Mac (I love blending two lipsticks), then I used my favorite pink lipgloss  "Pout." My friend recommended this to me years ago and I've been hooked ever since! Then I used Arbonne's "Taffeta" blush, and put a little bit of Arbonne's bronzer over it. (You can use my Arbonne ID# 13370815 at checkout on the Arbonne website if you would like the Arbonne products).

I also used some Mac under eye concealer (everybody needs a little bit of that to brighten up the eyes a bit!), I used my favorite NYX black eyeliner that I've been using for years, and I used NYC's "Smooth Skin Naturally Beige Face Powder." There you have it! This is the final look I completed for my birthday!

Smokey Eye Makeup

I love doing a smokey eye! To do this look on my eyes, I used Mac: Cosmic on the inner crease, NYX: Rust in the middle, Mac: Beauty Marked on the outer crease (the smokey effect) and Mac: Electric Eel on the bottom. I also used Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara in Glam Black. It's the yellow tube and it's my absolute favorite! Before I applied any of the eyeshadows, I made sure to use the Base Light Mac Primer.  I have been using it for years and it works really well.
